I am a Certified Raw Food Chef & Detox Coach passionate about improving the quality of life of others by promoting  healthy eating habits for life.  I believe the best diet for me is a plant-based diet, and most of my recipes will reflect this lifestyle.

An ex-carnivore and ex-pastry chef, I used to combine my passions for both in the kitchen. My cake final at The Culinary Institute of Charleston was a Vanilla Cake w/Maple Bourbon Butter Cream covered in Bacon Toffee! (I got rave reviews mind you!)  In March of last year all of that came to a screeching halt.

While surfing the web one morning, I stumbled upon the Raw Food Queen- Kristina Carillo-Bucaram of FullyRaw. An avid 80-10-10er, Kristina’s videos on YouTube about the wonders of raw foods left me curious, to say the least. I challenged myself to my first raw food cleanse for one week and the results were nothing less than amazing. I was sleeping better, my skin was glowing, my  nails were stronger and my recurring back pains were gone. Needless to say, I extended my cleanse for another few weeks! I dove into the raw food world head on, reading books and blogs, watching videos, all the while in awe of my findings and intrigued by this raw food movement I knew nothing about. Less than a year later I found myself in a Raw Chef Program on the magical island of Bali, training under the talented and inspiring Dr. Amy Rachelle.

I’m a native of Wilmington, NC, currently residing in Charleston, SC.  I fell in love with the low country while attending the College of Charleston and through many attempts to branch out to other places, Charleston kept calling my name. With my beer & late night pizza days behind me (well, for the most part!), I have set my sights on promoting healthy lifestyles through my blog and throughout the low country.  A plant-based diet is a beautiful thing, on your plate and for your body! Just remember, you are never to old to play with your food 🙂
